At some point you just have to do it…. summon up the courage to talk to a total stranger about your products or biz! Obviously “cold market prospecting” is part of building a successful business (but if you’re like most women, you’ll do almost ANYTHING to avoid these uncomfortable conversations!)
And who can blame us? It’s no fun feeling uncomfortable, sales-y or having people give you that quick “No thanks, I already love what I’m using” remark (or even worse, roll their eyes as they tell you “Sorry, I just don’t DO network marketing!”)
What if approaching strangers felt comfortable and easy? What if you could engage people in conversations that ended with them asking YOU for details about your products or opportunity? It’s not only possible, it’s quite simple once you have the right mindset and a few simple conversational skills.
For example, meet the gorgeous and talented Amani Zein, a top leader in her network marketing company. Amani learned to overcome her fear of talking to people in her first “job” – selling stuff door – to – door.
Amani used to feel incredibly nervous talking to strangers, but she had a simple mind set shift that made approaching people not only easy, but enjoyable. “Everything changed for me the day I realized I wasn’t trying to GET something from people, I was trying to GIVE them something; I realized I had a gift that could truly help them, and that completely changed how I felt about sales”.
As women, we are “hard-wired” to help and serve others, so when we approach prospecting from this place, it feels natural and easy. Our job really IS to serve people – to uncover problems, and offer up solutions that can make a real difference. If someone isn’t ready to accept your gift, you don’t have to take it personally; there are plenty of others who will buy from you and join your team, as long as you keep looking for opportunities to serve.
Here’s another powerful example: Romi Neustadt is one of the most successful women in the network marketing profession, and is also a master at “lifestyle prospecting”. She constantly generates leads, customers and business partners by looking for opportunities to connect with people through her everyday activities.
Romi is very skilled at chatting up strangers and asks questions that get people talking about themselves.. Once she uncovers a need, she quickly introduces them to her products/biz – without ever coming across as sales-y or self-serving.

Are YOU ready to overcome your fear of prospecting and (elegantly) turn strangers into customers and biz partners?
